About Dr Makgofa

Dr Nothabo Makgofa is a Plastics and Reconstructive Surgeon and sole proprietor of Dr Nothabo Makgofa Plastic Surgery Inc. She is a black female plastic surgeon. She completed her undergraduate degree (MBChB) at the University of Cape Town in 2010. She worked as an Intern at Kalafong Hospital prior to serving the rural community of Bochum, at Helen Franz Hospital in Limpopo. It was during internship that she discovered her passion for plastic surgery and made the commitment to pursue the speciality.

 

In 2014 as a Medical Officer she joined the plastics and reconstructive department at Polokwane / Mankweng Hospital complex, Limpopo under the leadership of specialist Plastic Surgeon; Prof S. Mzezewa. She also trained in the General Surgery Department in the same hospital.

In 2017 she was accepted to pursue her career at Dr George Mukhari Hospital in a registrar post at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences (SMU). She passed her followship of the college of plastic surgery ( FC Plast Surg) in 2021. Then she completed her MMED Plastic Surgery im March 2022.

She now works as a Plastic Surgeon at Raslouw Private Hospital, Centurion, Pretoria and Netcare Moot, Pretoria. She has a special interest in Cosmetic Plastic Surgery as well as aesthetic medicine.

Dr Makgofa is a wife and mother of two children. She was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe to a Zimbabwean mother and a South African father  in exile. Being from a cosmopolitan background, she relates to people of all backgrounds serves both South African and international clientele.
