Plastic Surgery
Cosmetic Surgery
Cosmetic surgery is where a person chooses to have an operation, or invasive medical procedure, to change their physical appearance for cosmetic rather than medical reasons.
Non-surgical cosmetic procedures, such as Botox and dermal fillers – typically used to relax or fill crease lines – do not involve surgery.

First Female Surgeon From The 19th century
Known as Madame Noel, Suzanne Blanche Gros Noel (1878-1954) is known as the first female plastic surgeon in the world. At a time when women at large were prejudiced against, she practiced her skill during the world wars.
Her primary interest as is mine was cosmetic surgery a profession frowned upon at the time. She extended her expertise as a confidant to women requesting plastic surgery cosmetic procedures. Madame Noel gave a voice to women, supporting their right to choose how they desired to look. She hid their scars and camouflaged them with dyed dressing, hair styles and hats keeping them away from the onlooking judgmental eyes.
In her book……………………. She documented many a private consultation with woman in particular wanting to hide their surgical procedures from their spouses. Though women are more liberated nowadays, many still carry the shame of wanting to alter an aspect of themselves despite it causing them a great deal of embarrassment. Still shackled to the perceptions of other people their voices and rights remain subdued. Religion and tradition do not make it any easier.
Yes through many a private consultation I have been taken into the lives of many women whose wellbeing could be improved by looking more “normal”. It is because of this enlightenment that I do not take lightly my patients’ grievances. Is it not normal to want to feel normal?

Sexuality
It is not possible to divorce sexuality from the manner which one perceives and feels about themselves. The confidence one exudes in matters of sexual appeal are based upon one’s self perception and simultaneously upon one’s appearance. When we see our own self image we consider ourselves desirable, first to ourselves before anyone else.
